…If so then you need to be aware that the European Commission Temperature Monitoring Regulations are now in force and have been since 1st January 2010. The regulations require the monitoring, with suitable recording instruments, at frequent and regular intervals of the air temperature to which deep frozen foods are subjected. The records must be stored for a minimum period of one year – but beware – the retention period needs to take into account shelf life – so the period may be longer. The recording devices used must comply with EN 12830, EN 13485 and EN 13486 standards. If you haven’t implemented a system yet time may be running out!
